The following is the fourth in a series on Independent School District 549 retirees for the 2023 school year.
A familiar face as you enter the Prairie Wind Middle School will be departing at the conclusion of the 2022-23 school year as Melissa Graham will be retiring.
Graham has been an Administrative Assistant for 13 years with the Prairie Wind Middle School. Prior to her time at the middle school, Graham served in the same spot at Perham High School for seven years, spending 20 years with Independent School District 549.
Graham’s time as a Yellowjacket has meant a lot to her and said it has brought lifelong friendships as well.
“Making a difference in the life of children and watching my own children thrive as a Yellowjacket because of all the wonderful staff and coaches that this district has,” Graham said. “Once a Yellowjacket, always a Yellowjacket.”
With her newfound freetime when she retires, students and staff can expect to see Graham around the district. She said she plans on traveling, volunteering and spending some time subbing in the district.
When asked if she has a favorite memory, Graham said she doesn’t have just one as she felt that ISD 549 is a spectacular place to work and everyday brings a new memorable one.
Graham also gave thanks to the wonderful school community, parents, students and the Perham community for her time with the school district. She said she is truly blessed to be part of all of it.
