ISD 549 Families and Community Members:
As we plan for the 2020-21 school year, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) is working with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to determine how to keep our students, families and staff healthy and safe. Perham-Dent Public Schools administration and staff are in the process of developing three contingency learning models based on MDH planning guidance, so our schools can be ready for whatever the public health situation may require.
- In-Person Learning: Return all students to the school buildings; following the most current MDH guidelines
- Hybrid Learning: Return students to the school buildings; strict social distancing and capacity limits; some distance learning from home
- Distance Learning: No students return to the school buildings; all learning done from home
The week of July 27, MDE and MDH will share their determination on which educational delivery model will be in the best interest of health and safety of students, school staff, families and communities. In early August the District will announce which educational delivery model will be implemented at the start of the 2020-21 school year.
Please note: the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be an evolving situation so the learning models could vary throughout the school year based on CDC/MDH/MDE guidelines in response to COVID-19 trends and our local situation.
Providing our students with the best learning experience in a safe environment continues to be our top priority.
