After 101 years of service, the time has come. The last formal day of education at the current Perham High School will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018.
The Perham High School building has been the center of the Perham community since its doors first opened in 1917. In an effort to commemorate the past century of education in the building, Perham High School invites you to join in on the front lawn as the last educational day at PHS comes to an end.
We’ll gather in front of the current high school from 1:30pm – 3pm. While there will not be a formal program, everyone is encouraged to come on out to take pictures, reminisce, and share memories of the many years of education the building has served.
The facility may be finished with formal education, but there are plans in the works to repurpose the building into a hub for various non-profit services and other resources. A volunteer committee is actively working on finding a new purpose and life for the 101 year old building.
The new Perham High School will open on Coney Street West this coming fall. It is a 154,000 sq. ft. facility connected to Prairie Wind Middle School. For the first time in over 25 years, all ISD #549 buildings will be located on one campus.
