Independent School District 549 has announced a plan for Inclement Weather Days for the 2022-23 academic school year.
The district’s plan was approved and will be implemented in the case of Inclement Weather.
While the school buildings will be closed due to the weather, classes will remain in session under E-Learning days. The state of Minnesota allows for five E-Learning days per academic year.
The E-Learning days allow for students to work from home, avoiding potentially dangerous commutes and counter the loss of curriculum momentum from school cancellations due to Minnesota’s winter weather.
The faculty and staff at ISD 549 have worked and implemented a plan and have it ready to be put in place in the event of an Inclement Weather Day.
Communication of an E-Learning Day due to the Inclement Weather will be delivered to the public via phone, radio, email, district website and through the school’s social media outlets.
Check the E-Learning tab on the school’s website for more instruction and details in the event of an Inclement Weather Day.
Teachers will be available to answer questions by email or phone (via voicemail). They will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and staff will do their best to respond to all communication requests in a timely manner.
Also, make-up dates will still be used on the district calendar if the number of E-learning dates exceeds the maximum allowed or if the days are not meeting the expectations of the district.
The school buildings will be closed during the event of an E-Learning day which means extracurricular activities would be postponed or canceled.
