Athletics & Activities

The Perham Yellowjackets have a rich history of success in high school athletics and extra curricular activities!

At Perham-Dent Public Schools we believe that all children benefit from being involved in multiple activities.  We offer a wide variety of programs that tap into each student’s talents, gifts and interests.

With thirty programs for students to participate in through the areas of fine arts, athletics and academics, we take pride that over 70% of our high school students choose to be involved in one or more activities. We strive to provide the coaching and facilities to allow individuals the tools to be the best they can be and to have positive experiences.

Fine Arts

At Perham-Dent Schools, we offer quality programming in the area of fine arts. Our students have the opportunity from an early age to be exposed to fine instruction and participate in the areas of Band, Choir, Community Musicals,  One-Act Play, Pep Band, Speech and Visual Arts. Our Fine Arts Department seeks excellence as they provide numerous creative venues for your child, which allows them to grow, learn and share their talents with the community.

Academics

In the area of academic co-curricular activities, our students have the opportunity to excel at regional, state, and even national stages. Perham offers programming in FFA, Knowledge Bowl, Science Research and Robotics where our students get the chance to go beyond the classroom for some fun and competitive experiences.

Athletics

At PHS we offer a full slate of team and individual sports.  With experienced coaches who are encouraged to build positive programs from the bottom up, there are numerous opportunities for student-athletes.  While we are proud of our teams and athletes, we are equally pleased with the number of students allowed to participate and to have an experience as Yellowjackets.  Our programs benefit from quality facilities through the school district as well as through a partnership with the city including: A beautiful gymnasium at Perham High School nick-named “The HIVE” , a 2nd competition gymnasium at Prairie Wind Middle School and 1 full court with batting cage at the Heart of the Lakes Elementary; two quality baseball fields; a 36 hole championship golf course; a lighted 8 court tennis facility; a 7 field softball and baseball complex; access to the Perham Area Community Center, with 2 gymnasiums and a pool; and a beautiful track and football complex.
