Dear Senior Students & Parents:
Graduation is upon us and we look forward to celebrating with our Graduates, Families, Staff, and Community on behalf of all PHS Graduates Class of 2022. Graduation will be held in the Hive at Perham High School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022. All seniors are asked to be at the High School by 6:30 p.m. and lined up for the processional at 6:40pm. (Reminder: Graduates, don’t forget your tassel and honors chords/medals.)
We ask that All graduates be dressed appropriately for the Graduation Ceremony. We ask that Graduates DO NOT wear shorts. We would like to remind everyone that this is a formal ceremony. Graduation gowns may be freshened by hanging them outside; or placing them in the dryer on a delicate/low setting (no dryer sheets). They are not washable; however they may be pressed with a mild iron. Mortarboards (hats) are to be pulled down and worn flat.
Receiving the diploma insert: Graduates will receive their Certified Diploma May 31 – June 3 with all obligations being taken care of. (Obligations include: Chromebook return, course and library books, lunch fees, and other outstanding bills. The list of Senior Obligations will be shared May 23 and we ask that students begin taking care of these obligations ahead of time when possible.
Seniors are to pick up their black graduation cap & gown in the high school office starting on Tuesday May 10. A $25.00 refundable deposit is required. If you have access to a black cap & gown, please feel free to use it (you may exchange it for the correct size, which is based on height). In order to get your deposit back, the cap & gown needs to be returned to the high school office May 31 through June 3. When you return your cap & gown, you will be given your diploma insert along with your deposit. If you need these items longer, please make arrangements with Ravin in the office.
There is a separate cost of $25.00, which pays for the graduation tassel and the Grad Bash that will be held at Cactus on May 26th @ 11:45 am. This is non-refundable.
If a senior is on track for graduation but fails a class third trimester and falls behind in credits, he or she will be invited to participate in the commencement exercises, but the signed diploma will not be presented until all work has been completed. All seniors must be within 2 credits to walk in the graduation ceremony (32 credits of 34 required).
Attendance is important for all students, but especially for seniors during the last few weeks of school. All students are expected to report to all of their classes. Final transcripts are requested from colleges and/or technical colleges and they may also ask for student attendance. Reminder: your final cumulative G.P.A. is calculated at the end of the third trimester.
On behalf of our entire District 549 Staff, we congratulate all of our Graduating Seniors and Parent Guardians. Seniors, enjoy these final days at PHS as a student and we ask that you finish this journey by applying yourself to the highest standards.
