In assessing our district needs in the event that Heart of the Lakes Elementary and Prairie Wind Middle School grades 5 and 6 would move to a hybrid model, we are working with community members on how best to meet the needs of families and students with childcare during this time. If there is a need for the hybrid or distance learning model, coordination around cohorts and consistent groupings of children will help to protect the safety of children, staff, and communities so as to minimize intermixing across settings. During a hybrid or distance learning model when students are not receiving in-person instruction, districts and schools are carefully considering their local community needs related to care for children of critical workers in Tier I areas. Childcare would be provided during regular school hours 7:45 am – 3:30 pm. Transportation will be provided to and from childcare.
It is our intention to prepare for the event should we move to either the hybrid or distance model. In doing this, we are asking for your information to plan and meet staffing needs. Your information will be seen as your commitment to a family plan at this time.
