The two PHS Marketing Classes have been bouncing around town visiting local businesses to learn about their different marketing strategies and how they get customers in their stores. Last week, the groups visited Goose Group, which consists of four businesses: NAPA, Goose Gang, Nest, and Wild Goose.
The students met with Laura Bjerke at Goose Gang, a toy store with frozen yogurt, popcorn, and candy. The students got to enjoy complimentary frozen yogurt while Laura spoke about the sensory experience that they want their customers to have when they go to Goose Gang. The fresh popcorn entices customers’ sense of smell, which makes you want to taste the different frozen yogurts, candies, and popcorns on display. Customers are also able to touch and feel all of the different toys, games, and products. These three examples help contribute to the overall experience that the store hopes that customers of all ages enjoy.
A big THANK YOU to Laura for sharing her insights on the marketing world with our students. We hope that students learned more about marketing, but also about the interesting opportunities that are still available in small towns. Students don’t need to go to a big city to apply their marketing knowledge. They can do so right here in Perham and the surrounding areas!
