PROM 2017—April 29, 2017 at Prairie Wind Middle School
GRAND MARCH (optional)
Please sign up for grand march in the high school office. See PHS daily announcements for times and dates to sign up. There is no cost for students to participate in grand march. Line up for grand march begins at 6:30 p.m., with grand march beginning at 7 p.m.Doors open for public admission at 6:30 p.m. A free-will donation will be taken for admission. A donation of $2.00 for adults and $1.00 per student is suggested. Concessions will be available to the public. All money raised from this event goes back to the Prom Committee for future proms.
GRAND MARCH DECORATING (optional)
Decorating for grand march will take place on Friday, April 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to help decorate during school hours with parental permission. Parents must call the high school office to give consent to participate. Students must sign up in the office and sign in at the PWMS gym with Sara Peichel when they arrive. PHS eligibility rules apply to those who may participate.
Decorating will continue after school hours on Friday, April 28, so students will have the opportunity to help decorate then as well.
PROM PHOTOS (optional)
There will be a professional photographer available for photos of prom couples before grand march. Follow this link for more information and to sign up.

VIP SEATING (optional)
VIP seating tickets for grand march will be available for sale in the Activities office. Tickets will be available during school hours from now until April 28 and again at PWMS before grand march starts or until they’re gone. The cost is $10.00 per ticket per seat. All checks need to be made out to: Post Prom. Ticket holders have the option of seating on either side of the grand march stage. Seating is on a first-come first-serve basis as there is no assigned seating. Ticket includes a redeemable coupon for one free bag of popcorn and bottled water.
POST PROM (optional)
Begins at 9:00 p.m. at PWMS
Cost of post prom tickets: $25.00 per student in advance and $30.00 at the door. (Students do not have to participate in grand march in order to attend post prom.)
Here are a few rules about post prom: This is a drug and alcohol free event. The doors will close at 10:30, and no admittance will be allowed after that. Students will sign out when they leave and will not be allowed to return once they’ve signed out. A guest dance contract must be filled out for any non-PHS guest. Guests must be under the age of 21. The guest dance contact can be picked up from Lynn Lehman in the high school office.
Post Prom entertainment lineup is as follows:
- Nick Bretz—9:30 to 10:30 p.m.
- Dance—10:30 to 2:30 a.m.
- Tattoo person/caricaturist—10:30 to 2:30 a.m.
- Poker/games—10:30 to 2:30 a.m.
- Inflatables—11:00 to 2:00 a.m.
- Hypnotist—2:30 to 3:30 a.m.
- Prizes—3:30 a.m.
- Free food available the entire night
Thank you to all the local businesses, parents, and students who helped with this event. We cannot express how much we appreciate the many, many hours of work so many of you contributed, for the donations of food, prizes, and money, for lending us things, for staying up all night, or getting up so early. We are truly grateful to all of you for the many ways, big and small, you helped make the 2017 Prom and Post Prom such a success!

April 25—4:00 p.m. at Wagon Wheel storage shed to start loading trailer
April 27—3:30 p.m. start decorating the PWMS gym
April 28—9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. students decorate. 3:30 p.m. decorating continues until finished
April 29—1:00 p.m. photos starting
April 29—6:30 p.m. grand march line up. Event starts at 7 pm.
April 30—2:00 p.m. clean up cafeteria/gym areas until finished
